You know I love a good deal and because of this desire to save money (and by save I mean spend more because I think I am saving because I got it cheap, so I buy five) you can find me in Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby's 99.9% off aisle and of course garage sales but even I have my limits.
Acceptable things to buy at the Dollar Tree:
(This is all the stuff required to entertain 28 little girls at camp)
Pens
Aprons
Pads of paper
Sticky Notes
Compass rings
Stamp Rings
Fun white containers
Cute Hawaiian hair clips bought only because they were cute and $1
#1 NOT acceptable thing to buy at the Dollar Tree:
They give these things away free at the health clinic.... and NO Matt, I don't know from personal experience!

when I was prego with Addy I almost bought a test from $ tree just to see if they worked! I mean I was like 8 months along...we would have known for sure if they worked! ; )
Funny story: When I worked at the adoption agency several years ago, we had a clinic once a week and those are actually the exact pregnancy tests we used. I was always skeptical too (for the same obvious reasons that you are), so when I got pregnant this past October I decided to take one of the $ store tests myself (after I had already taken a couple name brand tests that came back positive). What do you know--it came back positive too! And I guess it was right, because in less than 3 weeks that little baby will be here! :) So, the moral of this story is, cheapo pregnancy tests CAN still work. But I'd probably still go with a more well-known brand to start with...
I'm sorry--I'm more focused on the gift cards...I know what I'm getting you for your birthday!! LUCKY!
Haha, I have actually seen a girl buy a bunch of them at once. She stocked up on them as if they were equal to her as toilet paper!
Well, I took a $ Tree pregnancy test with Kadence because someone bought it for me. To our surprise, it was positive. Needless to say, I had to go get the $15 one to check and make sure!!
I actually have used these and they work. I keep a couple in my drawer for those months when I am not sure, that way I don't feel like I am wasting an expensive test. I always use the cheap one's first and if they come back positive, then I invest in something that cost a litte more. :)
